Carer Awareness in Primary Care:
Free Online Training

Carers Support West Sussex have been funded by the NHS to develop an online Carer Awareness training module, designed specifically for our Primary Care partners. This training provides valuable tips and information to improve carer awareness, enhance interactions with unpaid carers, and guide you on how to best identify and signpost them for support.

Please consider including this training in your mandatory induction training and ongoing professional development for all staff.

By being carer aware, a GP practice can enable patients with caring responsibilities to access health services in an effective way, and route them to appropriate support to addresses their wider emotional and practical needs.

Training Details:

Audience: Primary Care clinical and non-clinical staff including GPs, practice managers, receptionists, care co-ordinators, social prescribers and digital leads.

Application: Induction of new staff and ongoing professional development.

Access: Free (registration with a work email required)

Duration: Approximately 30 minutes

Format: Self-paced, allowing you to fit it around other priorities

Completion Window: 40 days from the date of enrolment

Upon registration, course details (also known as learning pathway) will be automatically sent to your inbox to confirm your access. Please check your junk inbox if you do not see the email.
