Guest blog: Introducing The Dementia Clinic: Support When You Need It Most

I’ve worked in dementia support for years, and one of the most common things I hear from people is: “I don’t know where to turn.” When you or a loved one starts experiencing memory loss, it can feel overwhelming. You might be unsure whether it’s something serious or just a normal part of ageing. You might worry about how to get help, who to talk to, or what happens next.

That’s why I’m pleased to introduce The Dementia Clinic.  a new service from Age UK West Sussex, Brighton & Hove in partnership with Here, Healthcare Delivery & Innovations . Here a not-for-profit healthcare provider. Our goal is simple: to provide expert guidance, assessments, and personalised support to help people navigate what can be a confusing and emotional journey.

Helping You Find the Right Support

The Dementia Clinic is for anyone who is worried about their memory or other possible dementia related symptoms, whether it’s for themselves, a partner, a parent, or a friend. I often speak to people who just want some reassurance and practical advice, support to stay independent at home, while others are looking for a formal diagnosis. Whatever your situation, we’ll listen, guide you through your options, and help you take the next step.

We can assist with:
✔ One-on-one clinical consultations and dementia assessments
✔ Advice on staying independent and managing daily life
✔ Support with, benefit & entitlements
✔ Emotional support for customers, carers and family members
✔ Connecting people with social activities and local support networks

 Experts You Can Trust

Through our partnership with Here, we’re able to provide expert clinical assessments alongside compassionate, practical support. The service is not-for-profit and fairly priced to ensure more people can access the help they need.
