Carers Support Impact Report 2023-24

A moment to reflect

Every year, the creation of the impact report provides the opportunity for the us to reflect on the difference we are making to family and friend carers in West Sussex. The report highlights the impact we have made in terms of numbers, feedback from carers, and quotes explaining how our support has helped carers in their role.

Getting feedback and hearing what carers say about the support they have received from our teams is hugely important and allows us to continue to develop and improve our services. Hearing from some of our amazing carers makes this impact report personal and reminds us why we, at Carers Support West Sussex, are here.

Aims of our charity

Carers support is a local charity, providing services to those who are in a caring role, whether that is caring for their partner, neighbour or a parent. Every carer has their own journey and story to tell and whilst many carers have shared experiences, all the 29000 carers that are registered with us are unique. Despite these differences we, as a charity have one vision: Is to bring the day forward when family and friend carers are seen, heard, and included.

Impact report

The impact report focuses on Carers Support’s activities and achievements, over the last year covering the financial year of 2023-24. Numbers are recorded throughout the year using a customer relationship management (CRM) which helps us to record all the various ways that we have worked alongside carers and to bring this to life in our Impact Report. Through this collecting of data, we know that as an organisation, we directly supported 11,345 carers.

Not all the numbers in the impact report will be big numbers, we pride ourselves on the difference we make to individuals and whilst the large numbers reported are amazing, the feedback from small groups of carers that have benefitted from our work is equally important to us.

Please take time to look at our report, we have presented it with a mixture of images, numbers and narrative to engage our readers. Most importantly, as you flip through this virtual booklet, join us in thanking all the unpaid carers within our West Sussex communities that do so much to support others. Their caring is invaluable and here at Carers Support West Sussex, we are constantly in awe of the work that unpaid family carers do.
